Hi there I have had this pen many years now and found it in the cubard the other day and just want to know more about it and poss value as its a shame its not getting used anymore and its a lovely pen. It has cross engraved on the nib with fancy scrolls and cross on the clip thing to put it on your pocket and serial number where it screws together when you open it to change cartrages or refill the one thats with it... any info will help loads

It is a Cross Townsend and, from the colour, I believe it is the one they calle "titanium".
I can't tell if it is a gold nib or just gold plated (there should be a clear engraving if it is gold saying 14 or, less likely, 18 carat).
Value depends on condition but it is not a cheap pen.
Nice pen - enjoy using it. The Townsend is one of my favourites.

Not going to use no need really for a pen of this quality and will most prob end up back of the cubard again lol....How much is it worth? as thinking of listing it on ebay but dont want to put it on at 99 pence to start would rather put it on at a little less than what its worth so it can go to a home that will either use it or add it to there collection either way its going to sit doing nothing here and its a real shame as its a lovely thing and wrights well. so any ideas on how much its worth.

The pen looks like a Townsend Titanium to me, as well. The last few that have sold on eBay (USA) have gone for about $140 (140.00 USD = 72.9052 GBP) so I would'nt hesitate to start the bidding at 50 GBP or more. I would suggest that you get some better photos of the pen to post on eBay, and a little polishing wouldn't hurt either
Cheers!

It's a Townsend, all right. Mine is about 15 years old and the nib states 18K.

The 'refill thingy' is called a converter. Just tell as much as you can about the pen [the name, etc.]. If it's a gold nib, state the carat. If we can't convince you to use a fountain pen, good luck with your auction.

Edit: Oh, just saw the fullsized image and saw the M. State that it's a medium nib.

It's a Townsend, but it's not a titanium one, as they have silver appointments. Also, going by the engraving on the clip, it is earlier than the titanium Townsends. I can't tell the colour form the photos; is it black?
You need to work out whether or not the nib is gold: It will be marked 14k or 18k if it is. They are worth considerably more with gold nibs.
EDIT - Actually going by the second set of photos I think it is a gold plated plated stainless steel nib.
