Hello, first post is a sad one I'm afraid. I was the happy owner of what I believe is a matching set of burgaundy M200 and K200 pens (with the twin bands). I foolishly left the ballpoint in the bank on Monday and it is gone forever. Does anyone know anywhere that might have a replacement, I know there is an older K200 (single band) one on martini, but I cannot find a twin banded K200 (in any colour) anywhere.

Plan B will be to sell my truxty M200 and buy a new pair of pens, but I'd rather not.

Of course if wife takes hint and buys me an M625 for my birhtday I may get over the pain wink.gif

ANy help would be appreciated.

You might post want to buy ads in the FPN Marketplace and over at Pentrace's Green Board. Most of all, be patient. Just because there aren't a lot of these pens around, doesn't mean they don't show up for sale, now and then. Keep looking and keep asking smile.gif

good luck,
Bill

Hi,

Sorry to hear about your loss, I haven't seen any Burgundy K200s for a while, but in the last 6 months I have seen 3-4 old style Burgundy K600s on ebay at reasonable prices (in fact I bought one had hoped to get a Burgundy FP to match, but haven't found one yet).

Why should you care you ask yourself?

Well the OS K600 is identical in size/shape to the K200 (the original M600 was the same size as the M200/M400 but with better trim), only difference is that the trim at the top of the pen, holding the clip in place is gold, rather than plastic, so it might make a good substitute if you can find one, so you might want to widen your search.

Good luck

Thanks Andy, I'll do that. Been eyeing up black M & K 200's as replacements, there's 2 advertised on ebay that are twist rather than click, did Pelikan ever actually make K200 in that style? Bizarrely someone is advertising a black K200 for $160 which seemed just a little bit steep.

Hi,

I've never seen a twist version for the 200/400 the 600 and 800 are the only ones I have seen with twist actions. Surprised about the Black being sold for $160 I have 2 or 3 and I don't think I paid more than about £30 for them new.

Just think how your pen may have been found by someone who never had a fountain pen and will now be as hooked as the rest of us!

FYI, there is a burgundy K600 on Pentrace that was just listed for sale. It has the twin bands - it may be a match for your pen.

Good luck.

i actually just bought one of those twist k200's (for under $12 tongue.gif) and was wondering the same thing. frankly, i would rather have gotten a click pen... but the price was right. according to a listing on martiniauctions the twist k200's were produced briefly for the US market. looks like the k600 but a little smaller (i assume) and with only a single cap band.

Hi,

If you ever fancy trading this for a click version, let me know as I have at least one spare in black.

well, what i *really* wanted was a red transparent... saw one briefly for $33 but was too dumb (and cash-strapped at the end of the month) to grab it. i plan this is a daily user and thus place no value in the "limited production" aspect of a low-end ball pen... not that many people likely would in a black k200 wink.gif

will see how i like the feel of Mr Twisty when it arrives and will keep your generous offer in mind. would likely post it on PT as a "WTT" for a transparent red first, but would have to dig through a drawer to see what else I'm not using to offer as a carrot (that old cross century II perhaps? a couple Andrew Jackson LE greenbacks? hmm...).

not to bump an old topic, but just wanted to report that I got the following email from Pelikan confirming the existence of twisty k200's:

Dear Mr. (menkent),

You are right, there was (some years ago) a special range made for our US distributor.
But all the ball pens from this range have been sold out.

With kind regards.
