I found a cache of pens I lost track of when I moved from CA to FL 4 years ago. Among them is a Sheaffer Balance fountain pen that came in a presentation box with a bottle of ink. The pen is a C/F type and the finish looks like the pen on this page: http://www.pensinasia.com/balance_878_spec..._-_sheaffer.htm (my pen is a fountain pen with a B nib - I removed it from the plastic bag it was in to check.)

What is the value f this?

Thanks!

Difficult to tell as they are not that frequently being offered on FPN or on Ebay. I own one like that, mine was bought in 1999. I did a review on that pen, look here. I would estimate this balance now between 100 USD and 150 USD. Any other estimates ??

The FP pictured is an Aspen Special Edition.
Not one of the "regular" Balance II colors.

But, I don't know what special packaging the pen was shipped with.

The Millennium Edition came in a large square box with ink and a clock.

Sheaffer shipped a bunch of non-Millennium pens in the Millennium box.
They must have made more boxes and clocks than pens.

I agree with the $100 to $150 estimate based on the pen's condition and current market.

I happened to notice this. Seems my estimate was not out of line..

Yeah, and I almost bought it too smile.gif Mine comes in a fancier box with an ink bottle (no clock in this one), that I thought would make a great gift when/if the occasion arises, but the pen is so beautiful it would make a great daily writer. Funny, but had the seller offered the pen alone I would have jumped on it. It defies logic, but the additional pen - the rollerball 0 actually stopped me. Go figure.
