Some weeks ago, I bought this pen in the flea market. I think it was great purchase, since it only costed 7 US Dollars, which is very little money for a pen with gold nib here in Buenos Aires (a used Parker 51 in good conditions is priced above 60 or 70 US dollars). I would be thankful if any of you could tell me any information about it.

As you can see in the pictures, the barrel has an inscription "SHEAFFER'S" with a large "86" on top. The cap is gold filled with also the "SHEAFFER'S" inscription on the clip. The section is strange, because the lower part is similar to that of a hooded nib pen, but the upper part of the section is cut sharply as a "V" to expose the nib and a large golden "S" is carved in the plastic. The nib reads "Sheaffer's" 14 K. This is a cartridge filling pen. I refilled its old cartridge with Sheaffer Sepia ink, and it writes like a dream. thumbup.gif

Hope to hearing from you.

Thank you very much.
Best regards.

Tito

Sheaffer's name for pens with nibs like the nib on your pen was Stylpoint. There are Stylpoint pens at the high end, like yours, to the low end, with steel nibs and plastic caps. The Imperial I had a Stylpoint nib.
