I've got just enough money in my paypal account for a Binder Italic Nib for my M200. I'm debating between the italic nib or buying an M600 (I could sell the M200 and with my next paycheck buy the M600). What would you do?
klangbogen
600. I want one.
kaos
I just got my M600, Black and Gold, with a Binder "ItaliFine" nib. It is taking some getting use to, but I am learning to use it. I am use to XXF nibs only. Anyway, I would keep the 200, and hold out till you can just add the M600 to your collection. I am alreadying drolling over the M800 & M1000.

I'd go for the 600. Beautiful pen.

I think I agree with kaos. Keep your M200 and wait until you can afford the M600.

Dilemma solved!

Keep the 200 it is the best pen to try out different nib grinds on !!

I think it depends on your hand. the 600 is about the size of a standard or large vintage pen--and fits the hands of many people much better than the 200/400 series. nibs are interchangeable between both so if you do buy a binderized nib, you can keep it for your 600 if you ever upgrade.

I love my 205 demo and my vintage and modern 400's, and they are the classic Pelikan pen--but I find the 600 just much better in the hand. And i'm a small guy. I suspect you'll end up at the 600 soon enough, and they show up used inexpensively on this forum. save your pennies!

Well I neglected to mention that I recently aquired a M205 Demonstrator, so I can get other nibs for that (relatively inexpensive too)

get the m600 it's a great pen and yoou can always used the demo for different nibs smile.gif

I'd also throw in a vote for 600. It's a very comfortable size for me and is a go-to pen more often than not. I got hooked on the Cities/places pens years ago, and they're first favorites for form and function.

Anybody has a Madrid or Chicago that they're willing to re-home, let me know...

I would second this.

I would suggest that if at all possible, you try writing with an M600 sized pen before you buy it. In my opinion, the M200/400 is a great size for carrying and is well balanced when the cap is posted. For me, the M600 is kind of a tweener size - too small to write comfortably with the cap un-posted but kind of big compared to the M200/400 sized pens for carrying. The M600 size is noticeably larger in your pocket - the point being that if I am going to carry a larger pen I might as well carry one of my M800's or M1000's. I do not post the caps when writing with my M800's or M1000's but I do post with the M200/400 size. That being said, some of Pelikan's best looking pens are in the M600 size and I do own several of them.

Well everything is relative wink.gif I find the M600 quite small and it will fit every pocket quite easily, not true for the M800 and even less true for the M1000.

The M600 is the smallest pen in my collection and its ease of transportation makes it the most frequently used... smile.gif

I would always for for another pen.

I've opted for the new pen! I figure I can always buy another M200 (there not too expensive).
