I have been trying to place an order with Tryphon for several days now. E-mail and phone messages are unanswered. Perhaps on vacation. Anyone have any info that may help me get an order placed? Thanks. /Craig

Craig,

It's highly likely that they are on vacation. I had dealings with them recently (a few weeks ago) and had no problems. My advice is to keep on trying - they will respond. Seems like it's a small operation, so this is understandable.

Tryphon is a small operation and not their full time operation, my understanding.

Since I'm also a small operation, and not full time (yet smile.gif) I certainly understand how things can get backlogged.

I just received an order, but it was after a second email.

Sylvia and Giovanni seem to go in spurts...but they've always treated me right, and I'm always happy to see little surprises with every order...free cartridges, free polish...little things like that.

Keep in mind that Sylvia runs the pen business, and Giovanni handles the shaving equipment.

Here's all the contact info that I have...

tryphon@comcast.net
tryphon@tryphon.it
sylviabrate@comcast.net

Phone 561-792-4244
Fax 561-7924245

I usually send an email to all three addresses, and then if there's no response after a while, then I call.

Thanks. I did e-mail the order to Sylvia and have called and left messages. I am sure it will be processed when they return. /Craig

Yeah, they have jobs. The pen/shaving thing is extra income. Don't really see how they can do it, he sells a pretty wide range of products and likely deals with a pretty large number of orders each week.

I understand they had mail problems.
It seems to be fixed now. A new (additional?) email adress: sylviabrate@hotmail.com
Sylvia got back to me and shipped very quickly, also in the last two weeks.

Rob

No problems. I heard from Sylvia who had been on a trip and is now heading to the DC pen show. I had completely forgotten they would be getting ready for and traveling to the show. Order will be processed next week. /Craig*

Craig,

Sylvia is at the pen show because I spoke with her today. Just FYI.

Blessings,

Are they still on vacation, or having problems with email? I've tried to reach Tryphon several times after placing an order on Monday, with no response.

but yes PM to member Tryphon

I received an order three days ago, but never heard from them, even after three emails. I spoke with Giovanni yesterday. I'm under the impression that they are very busy. Nice little surprise in my last order: liquid carnauba wax... I like it. Keep the faith and keep shopping. wink.gif

Davidwholt - Thanks, will do. smile.gif

Aslan - How do you receive an order without return communication? They'd need to send the total amount including shipping, wouldn't they?
RevAaron
I made an order ages ago, never got a confirmation. After a few weeks and two reminder emails, finally got a reply. Outlook problems (not surprising). Another week of not hearing anything, another reminder email, and finally a reply that it was just sent and I should be getting it soon. Sure enough, got it a few days later.

All in all, five weeks is a long time, but it did come.

The order just showed up. I was very surprised [understatement]. I added up my order, added in the postage from the box and wrote a check. I called Giovanni to thank him for the order (I had done only minor business w them before) and to let him know a check would be n the mail that day. He thanked be for my business. I thanked him for the shipment and told him to expect a check. Conversation over (he was very polite and professional, but obviously busy).

Having built (and sold) a business, I have a special place in my heart for entrepreneurs. Most of them work very hard and often very long hours. Sometimes the work gets ahead of the ability to get the work done. Grace abounds.

A side note: "Small" business, conceived, started, grown and maintained by entrepreneurs, is the backbone of this, and any other country. According to the US Census Bureau, small business accounted for 51% of ALL jobs in 2004 (the most recent available data).

I placed an order before the DC show and received it after -- also with a little carnauba wax sampler which is good because I ordered the polish and I was thinking I should have ordered the wax too. Djehuty, I'll PM you the email address they used to communicate with me.

Wow, that's certainly trusting!

I just hope I won't receive several copies of the order, because I sent several emails after receiving no response. unsure.gif

Update: I've heard from Sylvia Abrate of Tryphon. They're still having email trouble, but one of my messages made it through. The order should arrive soon. smile.gif

I thought I would post an update. I spoke with Sylvia yesterday on the phone. She said that they did have some troubles with the e-mail system and therefore some of the e-mails were not received or were delayed. She said everything is back to normal now. I placed a new order yesterday by e-mail and spoke with her today to confirm receipt. /Craig
