Hi,

I recently began to write with fountain pens again, after I found out the hard way, that I couldn't read my writing anymore wink.gif
I am in my early 30s and I prefer pens, that have something different about their design and are made for using everyday.

Pens like Montblancs Meisterstück series are visually boring to me.

I am glad I found this board, because simply the amount of knowledge floating around here is stupendous!

Thanks to all and especially the admins for this site.

VOW! Ziss is really neat!

Me too. First of all congrats and all that as to becoming a new member of the crew. I'm not all that "sharp" about MBs either (whoa, look at all of my reflections on this lately) BUT don't forget Pelikan. Yes -- whether we all like it or not -- it IS a German company. Pelikan is my favourite FP company (I think).
Just don't forget that the more you collect, the less you can stop. Ditto Inks!!!!!

Tale care.

@lapis: I won't forget Pelikan, I have an M400 and I am thinking about the M1000. It definitely IS smooth writing. However they are still quite classical, except for some limited editions which are way out of my league (or purse as it is).

One company with interesting designs I found is Nettuno, but they have closed, so they are not an option (except for sheer luck)
I have a Visconti Aida which has an interesting design, writes really smooth and the celluloid is to die for...

Before I forget. I have some aroma inks from De atramentis, but they are for cheaper pens only, because my Sheaffer Valor does not stop to smell like chemical Vanille. My favourite inks at the moment are: Levenger Gemstone Green and PR Arabian Rose. I simply love them.

Sven,

Hello and welcome aboard the FPN, from the "Water-Winter Wonderland" of Michigan.

Willkommen Sven! Es ist immer gut mehr Deutsche hier zu haben!

I agree with you on the MBs too - gave away the only Montblanc I had.

Willkommen, Sven! Ich habe auch ein Paar Jahre in Deutchland gewohnt, und dort habe ich meinen Lamy Al-Star und auch meinen Pelikan gekauft.

I'm assuming that you've already hit your local Schreibwarengeschaeft, but do so if you haven't. Fountain pens are (or were, when I was last in Germany) much more common than in the United States, & it's not that hard to pick up a nice Pelikan or Lamy for a pretty reasonable price.

You can say "moin" at any time -- it stems from the Frisian word "mooi", meaning "good" -- and has absolutely nothing to do with the time of the day.
