Hello all,

I will be making the long trek from coastal North Carolina to Massachusetts this weekend, and it just so happens that the DC Supershow is going on. Being a broke college student, I don't have much in the way of a budget, so actually buying pens is not a likely outcome of the show. I would be interested in trying out and buying a few inks, seeing Richard Binder's assortment of specialty nibs (and considering an italic nib), and getting the feel for a pen show. I've been to some mid-sized coin shows years ago, but never a pen show.

So, that said, would it be worth the extra hour onto my drive, a slightly more expensive hotel cost, and the risk of impulse buying for me to go to the show? Or, seeing as I'm on FPN and I have a feeling I know what I'll hear, can you convince me that it's worth it?

Happily traveling,
Nathan

call the hotel and reserve your room NOW!! the show price is $99.00 a night!! if you know someone, ask them if you can share a room--then it's real cheap. why go... you can play with the inks--hundreds of them, you can play with richard's specialty nibs and at the next table you can watch ron zorn do his magic on pens. meet the vac quack, meet me and elaine. drool over 250 vendors' tables. meet other fpners.

it is exciting!!

I'd agree with aunt rebecca.

Be sure to buy what's on your list before giving in to the Impulse to buy. Of which there is a very good chance.
Unless your a very very disciplined college student.

Only an hour out of your way?

I'd think you'd be kickin' yourself all the way to New England.
Considering traffic, it's a pretty easy interstate route.

Come Have Fun!

Discipline....wazzdat?

Come to the show and say hi to us!

I nominate Steve as the official unofficial host of all FPN'ers who want to meet and greet at the show!

Steve, make a sign for FPN'ers and we'll be there at your table! thumbup.gif

This is a no-brainer. Get yourself to the show. Yes, it will hurt to not be able to buy. But the show is soooo much more as others have pointed out. An hour out of your way? Pshhh! That's nothing compared to the fun you'll have.
