Just received a nib marked Sheaffer 44 Made in USA 14K.
I've never heard of it before... does anyone have any information on this nib?

Nope, it just says "44." It's an open nib but doesn't seem as thick as the nibs on the old flattops.
I'm thinking it's similar to the "33" nib.
