I have an older Cross and don't know which model it is or anything about it.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Looks like a Classic Century FP... Sterling silver?

Cross Classic Century, and it looks like the chrome version.

What a coincidence. I was just looking for information about this pen.

I just received it (in chrome) as a gift from my mom, who found it at a stationery store that was closing. They thought it needed repair, but it was just clogged with ink. She got it for 5 dollars. It writes really smoothly.

The nib isn't marked at all, but looks like gold to me--it that so?

Thanks y'all. I believe it is chrome, no tarnishing over the years and based on the look and feel of the nib, it might very well be gold, but no markings except M.

So, is this pen only worth $5.00?

Ahh... I think the pen is worth much more than $5.00.

But, if you're looking to get rid of it, I'd buy it from you from you for $5.00 thumbup.gif

And for $5.00 I'd probably buy another one. Even after years of retirement, this pen feels like a charm. smile.gif

Unless the nib says '14k' on it, it will be gold plated stainless steel.

Still worth more than $5 though...
