I got some nibs in small plastic tubes made for this purpose. Seems to be quite safe.

My extra nibs came in a nice plastic nib tube so I use those to keep the spares.

The vials used for ink trades can be padded and used to hold a spare nib as well. I've done that when I didn't have any of the little nib tubes hanging around.

What's wrong with the little plastic vials they come in?

And just out of morbid curiosity, "carry" extra nibs?!?!? blink.gif

I can understand carrying ink (when I carry it in my luggage, it goes in an old-style Sheaffer bottle, within a padded Nalgene polycarbonate jar), but extra nibs?

I was thinking this but you got there first, assuming I didn't have enough spare bodies for the nibs I wanted to carry around, I would use the little tubes the spares came if.

I have a few extras that were purchased second hand and didn't come in those little tubes.

Why carry? Why not? We're all a bit nuts to begin with so if someone wants to switch nibs while traveling or at work, I say go for it.

I use the plastic tube also. Mine was a small tube that came with some of my painting brushes. It is a thickness of a FP, so I cut it to shorten it and keep it in my FP binder with the pen itself.
