Full Version: I'm having trouble ID'ing this pen

FrankenParker? Slip on cap, button filler. Body appears to be VS, but the button doesn't match the photos I've seen. The cap is the same black material as the body and the VS has a metal cap. Unfortunately, any markings that were on the pen were either light and worn off or have been buffed off. Under bright LED light, there appear to be vertical stripes in the body, cap and section. I can't tell if they are designed or secondary to the manufacturing process. I couldn't get a good photo of them, but have some better lighting and magnification at work that I'll give a try tomorrow. 136mm (5 3/8") capped, 124mm (4 7/8") uncapped. Nib is nonfeathered, marked Parker Canada 14K. If there are any other pictures that would be helpful in identifying, let me know and I'll post them up.

Looks interesting, whatever it is!

I was going to say a British 'Duofold' variant or a VS...but...I'm not sure now. I say - get it fixed and play with it!!

That's what I'm leaning towards. Black feed instead of clear, but that would be consistent with later VS's. The button doesn't look like any that I've seen on a VS, but that may be part of the variant. All it needs is a new sac. There was actually a pliant one in there, but it was crammed in and didn't hold it's shap very well, so I'll just get a new one. Have dipped it and it writes really smooth.

I seem to have a thing for Canadian variants. http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/in...c=65369&hl=

If it were a Canadian variant,it would probably have "Made in Canada" written on it.

There were some very interesting things produced in the UK. There was a thread not long ago on some pen with AF filler - the same system as with VS, but quite a different pen. This might be a lead for you as the pen in question looked very similar.

I meant to put my reply under George. As stated in the description post, it has "Canada" on the nib.
