I'm a medium nib kind of guy, but my 51 has a fine. Where might I find a medium nib for sale or trade for the fine in mine now?

Thanks,

Dan

http://www.parker51.com occasionally has them - e-mail Ernesto, as his website may be out of date and not reflect his stock.
Failing that, I really don't know.
You could try a ruined Parker 61 and file off the lugs on the nib that aren't needed. I have done this myself, see the photos in this thread:- http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/in...showtopic=62073

Thanks for the pics of the 61 conversion, looks easy enough. Are 61 nibs any easier to find that those of 51's?

I just sent a '44 Parker 51 off to Richard for a nib transplant. I saw in another thread here that David I. just scored a major stash of Parkers...some of which may not be restorable....you might try emailing either of these two gentlemen.

You can likely get one from John Mottishaw as well. If you buy a nib from him and send him the pen, they do the installation pronto and your pen is not subject to the huge wait time they have for work. I gave him my 51 Aero at the Chicago Show and it came back to me in 2 weeks with a really sweet double broad stub.

Separate from the pens? No.
However Parker made a hash of the P61 in their plastic choice for the barrel and section. As a result they distort & crack quite badly over time. Consequently there are a number of terminal case P61's out there where the only thing that's salvageable is the nib, and what good is a nib without a pen? I have seen them sell for as low as £7 ($14) in this condition on E-Bay.

Dan,

Contact Old Griz on this forum, he did have a few Octanium "51" nibs, but they might all be Fine or XF, but he might have a nib or two he is willing to trade.

Hope this helps.
