I picked this up from Ebay a few years ago when I was just dabbling. From what I've been able to find out from scouring the internet, this is a green and gold striped Duofold. Is this correct? Is it a junior or a sub-deb or something else? It measures 51/8" capped. On the back of the nib, there is a "W" yet the nib writes very fine and scratchily; also the back of the nib looks like something's askew...? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

In parker literature this model variably was named (Duofold) Junior and Sacless Duofold. Entry level to vac-fill Stripers at $3.95 in this size or in the smaller Sub-Deb / Lady Sac-less. "W" often correlates to wide channel feed meant for flex or broad points, though yours at first glance appears to be neither.

The gripping section appears damaged, and the nib needs to be reset.

The metal filler indicates (barring swaps) relatively early production. Though its chromed look (as best i can tell by pic) suggests it might be late in the early production window, perhaps very early 1942 date code.

Suggest get it to a restorer. Too, might need a replacement section.

Fun pen. Very collectable series.

Also, i didn't realize Canadian. Chromed fillers seem to crop up more often there than in the brief early 1942-ish window in USA.
