Sorry to bombard everyone with my uneducated questions, but does anyone know of any shops in Long Island (in New York, just outside NYC) that will allow me to actually hold some fountain pens to try them on for size? I know that Joon is in NYC, but I try to stay out of Manhattan as much as possible.

Located on Long Island, depending on where you are coming from, this store can be easier
to get to than fighting the traffic in Manhattan. The store carries a good stock of Waterman,
Montblanc, Montegrappa, OMAS and others. The store give the usual discounts and has nice
sales on close out selections from time to time.
