I am glad to have found this resource and hope to learn more about fountain pens. I was introduced to fountain pens in the late 40's early 1950's by the Sisters of Notre Dame when we were required to buy an Esterbrook and use it in practicing the Palmer method of hand writing. I have come back to fountain pen usage from time to time and most recently started collecting via eBay. In addition to some classic Esterbrook, Sheaffer and Parker pens I have found Sailor, Pilot and Platinum from Japan to be fine contemporary pens. I have also been impressed with a few new pens from China. I certainly enjoy using my new pens and YES I hope to improve my penmanship.

Welcome and I'm with you on improving penmanship. This is a subject I'm starting to take more seriously.

Welcome!!

I spent the last three years of the 60's in Eielson Air Force Base, near Fairbanks. Dad was in the service. Not too much I remember as I was just 5 when we got there. I do remember Dad taking us out Trick-or-Treating and the snow was deeper than I was tall!

You'll probably find your penmanship to improve some as FPs force you to slow down. Mine improved some because of this.

Anyway, you've come to a very friendly place. Enjoy!
