Full Version: Value of a small, vintage Lucky Curve?

I'd like to find out the approximate value of a small, vintage Parker Lucky Curve that I've been gifted. Would appreciate it if someone could help here.

A client team member gave it to me as a parting gift, knowing that I like fountain pens. It was a very generous gesture, but I do not want to accept it if it has a high market valuation.

The clip says "PAT SEP 5-16" PARKER. The nib has "Parker Lucky Curve Made in USA" on it. The barrel does not have any imprint on it. Sorry for the poor picture.

It is a Parker Lucky Curve Pastel. 1929 or so production.

What i can see of this one suggests at least a moderately discolored barrel. Other condition issues include preservation of original gold fill on the trim, freedom from cracks (esp in cap lip), thread function etc. Presumably this one is unrestored.

A fully excellent pen restored would retail around $150-225. An unrestored moderately discolored pen probably $40-60 value. Pen can be restored to working shape if you plan to use it.

Thanks, David!

This is very helpful.

This one has no cracks. The barrel is off color, but the cap is good (as one of your other posts pointed out), I think the sac needs to be replaced, but the nib is in good condition. I may ask you more about it.

Dave didn't mention it is the moire variety which are very nice when they aren't discoloured. The plain versions to me are nicer and don't tend to go as discoloured as the moire.
They are very pretty and nice to have in the collection.
