I thought the 100 was 5.5" capped? (Isn't the 200 5 3/8" capped?) What Waterman would look like a 100 but be
5.75" capped?

I have just purchased what was described as a Black NOS LeMan100 and has the right paperwork with it.

It is a fraction under 5 3/4"(14.3cm)capped.
Uncapped it is nearly 5 1/4"(13.3cm) and posted 6 3/4"(17cm).
Barrel diameter is about 7/16".

Will someone please confirm I have a LeMan 100?
It conforms with and looks exactly the same as the one reviewed here:

This is weird. I was looking at a supposid Man 100 on Fleabay, the seller supposidly had the original
paperwork to say it was a 100 and said he measured it at 5.5" capped.

Can you please post teh eBay link?

Roger, let me ask: Does your pen's cap have gold rings around the top?

Just checked my Le Mans...

My Black Lacquer 100 is a tad under 5.75 inches - about 144mm. The diameter at the base of the cap is just over 0.5 inches, about 14mm
The BL 200 is pretty well exactly 5.5 inches or about 140mm capped.

So, in answer to the original question - a Le Man 100.
A pen which is sometimes confused with a Le Man is the Gentleman but this is slightly longer than the 200 at 5 9/16 of an inch, just over 141mm.

OK.

My cheap ruler is way off.

I should have used my laptop formula: the LeMan 100 goes from the left edge of the Q key to the middle of the I key.

Phew! I was concerned there for a moment....but, whatever I call it, it's a beautiful, smooth writer.

Ok, not that we don't already have pretty good answers here, but I may have
found even "mobetta" ones if possible, and it took going back to the Oct. 06
postings here to find it.

Here's a webpage I think would be most helpful to save to your favorites. A site
with 31 PAGES of every dimension/weight of ALOT (not all of them but alot) of pens
vintage and modern. Soooo, if you ever wonder, "Hmmm, I wonder how much bigger,
thicker, heavier, *this* pen is over this other one", well, here ya go.

http://vintagepens.com/pendata.pdf

which begats us;

1990 Waterman Lemans 100 Opera

Pen (only) length 133mm 5.24 " (rounded up to 2 decimels)
Pen Capped length 144mm 5.67"
Pen Posted length 170mm 6.69"
Widest diameter of 12.6mm .50"
barrel

1997 Waterman 200 Rhapsody

Pen (only) length 128mm 5.04"
Pen Capped length 140mm 5.51"
Pen Posted length 165mm 6.50"
Widest diameter of 11.1mm .44"
barrel

In comparison, the barel width of a Man 200 is about .4 mm thicker than
an Estie LJ.
