I love the way my Pelikan Royal Blue shades in my medium-nibbed M200.

What inks do you find to exhibit the most shading of your favorite inks (given ideal pen & paper conditions)?

I tend to get the best shading with Diamine inks..

Some of the best shading I've obtained is via more saturated inks, especially when diluted a bit and used in stubs/italics (e.g. PR Supershow, Tropical Blue, Naples Blue; Noodler's Navy, Ottoman Azure, Navajo Turquoise). Among others, Sailor's Red-Brown, while doubtless not a colour for everyone, may take the prize among inks I've used.

I don't have either of these inks myself, but I've seen the reviews and the shading just looks so dramatic and gorgeous. I covet Noodler's Apache Sunset and Habanero.

My favorite shading ink is Diamine Golden Brown. I also like Diamine's Woodland Green. I think the shading looks the best in my Esterbrook J with a 3668 nib. But my Lamy Safari's with a fine nib do a decent job in showing the ink's shading qualities too!!
