New/NOS Pelikan M400 Brown Tortoise

A Very Rare Find, Perhaps Your Last Chance to Get One of These New

Most Pelikan fans are aware of the brown tortoise. It was produced in the 80’s, and is the aesthetic successor to the pens that came before it, while being the functional predecessor of modern Pelikans. In many ways, this pen represents the best Pelikan has/had to offer. On one hand, the finish/materials do not suffer any of the shortcomings of models that came prior, while the “in-house” Pelikan nib is often regarded as superior to modern Bock examples (which are no slouches themselves).

To emphasize, rare to begin with, and nearly untouchable new/NOS. This pen has the correct deep brown (nearly black) cap and hardware (which did not show up well in the photographs).

For those interested, I managed to locate this in the remaining inventory of a German pen store that went out of business in the early 90's.

Price: $195 shipped via USPS first class mail with delivery confirmation. Insurance and other services are optional, and quoted upon request. International shipping should be between $7 and $10, depending upon location.

Ordering Process

Money orders are fine, but no checks please.

My preferred payment method is via PayPal. If you'd like this pen, please send an "I want it" private message, with your PayPal email address mentioned in the body. For a number of reasons, it’s easier for me to send a PayPal invoice as opposed to receiving payment direct.

Once the invoice is sent, the pen is effectively held for 24 hours. If, in 24 hours, the invoice hasn't been paid, it will be canceled and I will send an invoice to the next buyer in line.

Should you have any questions, drop me a line.

Oh, man. This one makes me weep with happiness. I wish I hadn't been so spendy the last 12 months!!

Don't worry, Joe. There will be others when your budget is more forgiving. Nice pen, JJ. Good luck with the sale.
