Just wondering....It has a Montblanc cartridge filler, the nib looks right, and when I compare my new burgandy 144 against my older black one, they look the same. Just no serial numbers on the newer burgandy one, whereas my black 144 has teeny numbers on the clip ring. Thanks for your thoughts.

A quick bump - I was hoping someone here could help. Thanks.

Depends on when the pen was made. The answers are down in the archives somewhere.

Yep, montblanc serial no is only on after the 1990s, owing much to the growing imitation trend, i think

Thanks so much, skma and Deirdre. I tried checking the archives for "144" but it's too short for the topic search function. I'll try another approach. But at least for now, I'm feeling more at ease that my pen without the serial numbers is real.

For example; all spare part clips are without a serial number

The fakes also carry serial numbers also ... but the same number. So I reckon it's gonna be difficult to determine if it's an ori or fake by just looking at the pixs. One needs to feel the pen to know.
Can it be said that with the cash back guarantee mean the seller is selling a genuine pen?
