CP8 Flamme (left) and CP8 Vannerie (right) on the Classic Legend 766 fountain pens
The CP Collection started in 1990. With each and every new member, the family of the CP Series increased in diversity and prestige. So did the loyalty and following around the world. When we shipped the CP5 to established CP customers, many wrote back to say how delighted they were with their pens and some asked us to reserve a set of the CP6 for them, even though they had no idea what it would be – and neither did we.

CP8 Vannerie detail
This loyalty to the CP Collection continues and grows as demonstrated by a healthy number of pre-orders for the CP8 Legend as well as increased demand and values for past CP pens.

Highlights of the CP8
The Classic Pens structure and operation enable us to reduce costs. The savings are used to improve the quality of our products and keep list prices low. The following are some examples of product improvement and relatively low list prices we have been able to achieve with CP8.

Highlights of the CP8
The silver casing wall thickness with most quality pens is around 0.4 mm. This is the case with past CP pens from Aurora, Parker, Pelikan Sailor and Sheaffer. The silver casing wall thickness of the CP8 is 0.55 mm. resulting in a more substantial pen but not a door stopper.

Guilloche engravings are normally cut at an angle of 150 degrees (the angle the cutter meets the cap or barrel to be engraved) which gives an engraving depth of seven to eight centiemes (100ths of a millimeter). The thicker silver wall of CP8 enables Murelli to cut the engravings at an angle of 140 degrees and an engraving depth of eight to nine centiemes. The resulting patterns are more substantial. The CP8 Flamme and CP8 Vannerie have a rich and long lasting appearance.

The Guilloche engravings of CP8 extend to the cap top enhancing the exquisite designs. Silver casings are prone to dents and dings during the pen’s working life. The CP8 cap and barrel are protected with substantial plastic liners from end to end.

We do not use distributors and can save 20% or more on the list price. The new packaging for CP8 is solid, attractive and large enough to house the pens but with no frills. A saving of $25 in the packaging translates in a reduction of at least $100 on the list price.
The text and photos following are fron the CP8 page of our website. The packaging photos show the prototype pens, these will be updated with the new photos in due course.

We are delighted that several of you will take part in the open survey. The two CP8 loaner packages, one for use in North America, the other for use in Europe are being shipped to the first people in the queue.
We hope you have lots of fun test driving the CP8 pens and look forward to seeing your valuable reviews soon.
