I am drawn to the Private Reserve Black Cherry color. I would be putting this in a pen that previously used Waterman inks, probably a Sheaffer Touchdown one that used red. Anyone anticipate problems?
(Obviously I would flush the pen a few times with water.)
Thanks,

I can't see that causing any problems. You're going to flush the pen out first, which is always a good idea, so just make sure that it's fully dry before filling with the PR.

Hi Kwahoo,
Just to add a little to Neil's good advice: make sure all the red ink has been flushed out of the pen. Waterman red is a little acidic, so better be safe than sorry.
You can make sure of this by leaving the pen to dry in a mug or jar with some toweling (tissue paper or so), nib down. Put some in the mug or jar, a deep enough one, so that the pen won't fall out when loosely put in there. You'll be amazed how much colour you will still get out of the pen, even though Waterman inks flush out quite well.

Thanks for the advice. How long does it typically take to be sufficiently dry?

Hi Kwahoo,
I leave it staning overnight, in a jar as described above, and it is dry the next morning.
When I am in a hurry, I just wick the nib and feed with a tissue, and if it is a c/c IŽll do the same on the c/c receiving end, and use a fresh converter. The main issue is really that you are changing the characteristcs of the ink slightly when adding water to it, which is what you do when the pen isnŽt dry yet.
