Although I was very fond of the Sheaffer inlaid nibs, I have not got one until last week. But being a neophyte in this brand, I do not know what model and nib type is the one i got. Could any of the gurus here help me to identify it?

It is a touch down pen, with a 14 K gold nib. The seller told me it was a model from the 70s. Could anyone confirm this? Is there any way of checking the manufacturing date?

Okay, quite a stupid question - what's the difference between Imperial and PFM?
DrPJM1
PFM's filled with a Snorkel and Imperials were cartridge/converter.

Q: besides looking at the feed, how do you tell one from the other?

Width, filler (PFM had a snorkel) and the number of meals you'll do without to buy one.

Yep, and the PFM blind cap is more chiseled than the Imperial's.

Imperials are smaller and have different finished/patterns.

Imperials also were available in Touchdown.
