I just acquired a Parthenope -- and I think I'm going to LOVE this pen! I really like the springy, fine nib. I got the white marble, and it's quite attractive. Nice size.
Does anyone know when these were produced? And are they a Limited Edition? Mine has #0933 on it.
I remember following an eBay auction on one of these, so I snapped this one up from Ross McKinney -- thanks Ross!! So far I'm quite impressed with it.
THanks for any information!

Not a limited edition, just numbered as Delta does. They stopped producing them somewhere in the 3(?)years IIRC. I have two and I love them. Keep in mind that the converters are screw in, and are NOT easy to find.
Parthenope was one of the Sirens that lured ships onto rocks with singing. If you want more production history contact Susana Buffo at Giardino Italiano. She'll be going on vacation soon so...
I have the blue/yellow and the red and am quite happy with them.

Thanks for the information!! Luckily, I'd already figured out that the converter screws in -- but that needs to be emphasized. I'll have to keep it with the pen so it doesn't disappear.
So these were produced late 90's - early 2000's?
It's my first Delta, and so far I'm impressed -- just filled it and it writes nicely!!
Again, thanks!

My Parthenope has the #2439, which I assume is just a production number, as Andrew said. I recall when these pens were current production, but I will be darned if I can remember the dates. It was indeed late 1990's and maybe up until 2001. It was a fairly short production run, and I do not know why. The pens are real Delta quality.
To me, the pen seems small. But the width is actually substantial. I seldom post pens, but this one has that marvelous end cap threading to accommodate the cap so it seems very natural to post it. When posted, the pen feels about like a Pelikan M-800 or maybe a Stipula Etruria O/S. The nib is size proportionate and the writing experience is excellent.
I hope you like yours as much as I like mine.
