I dropped my Lamy 2000 and bent the nib. See the pix. I am in LA and would prefer someone who can fix this in a reasonable amount of time for a reasonable cost. My guess is that it will take all of 30 minutes. can someone make a suggestion?

PM me please. Thanks!Click to view attachment

Well, knowing you have to take the bitter with the sweet, I would suggest sending it to Lamy's repair center (Connecticut), and being patient. crybaby.gif Maybe they won't even charge you.

since this doesn't seem to be a mission-critical repair job, you might want to try a place that's not as busy as the usual nibmeisters. i also have a bent nib to be repaired, and i'm thinking of sending it to writepen at http://www.thewritepen.net/. haven't tried them yet, but the repair charges seem more than reasonable. (i also got that address here at FPN.)

The pictures are a little unclear but it doesn't look like a severe bend to me. I've straightened worse-looking nibs than that with perfect results. If the point (tipping material) is still intact then go with whatever repairer the regulars of this board recommends. Alternatively, consider the price of the repair vs. the price of a new nib. Most repairers would charge less (I'm a Lamy retailer so I know what new nibs cost) than a new nib but a repair would take longer.

might be an option. Her turnaround is good, and in my experience, the quality of her work is excellent.
