Hello everyone.

There are many topics here discussing the Writers Editions and Patron of Arts, but seldom does anyone mention the Donation Pens. Are they not as popular?

I do find the simple in design. But being dedicated to honour musician, I also find them nicely done. I know that they all have the same basic structure, and the design only goes into the clip and cap ring, but what are your thoughts regarding them?

Wow what a great question.
I was thinking about the same thing for a while.

My take on this is that these pens are not a masterpiece and not LE.
They fall between the chairs, they are not cheap but not really special or unique.
Even though I never tried one I am sure they are as good of a writer as any other MB pen as these pens are all based on the 146 chassis.
If I would get to buy one for a resonable price I would concider buying it as a user.

Hello Goodguy,

I do agree with that these pens, being unlimited lessens their appeal. Although the Bach is limited to 12000 pieces, which makes it more limited than the WE. Pricewise, they are less expensive than the WE as well. If I'm not mistaken, the Toscanini is around $650-$700. Also, being made of the same materials and of the same size as the regular resin 146, they feel like a regular edition with something extra.

I like Donation pens and had a Bach for a second, but for me, I would rather spend a little more money, and in some cases the same to get a WE.

Some of them are really nice.. I think the Herbert Von Karajan is quite creative smile.gif The Solti is nice too
