Full Version: How Do You Carry Small Pens?..

I have recently acquired a number of ring-tops and miniature pens, which I use to practice flex writing. But now I have a problem: I've got nothing suitable to transport them in when I take them out of the house. My pen cases are too large, and these little pens end up bouncing around in the slots -- plus they are difficult to fish out. I have taken to wrapping them in a napkin and then putting them inside the slots --but that is not a good long-term solution. Any suggestions for methods of mini-pen transportation?..

EDIT: Ah sorry, wrong forum! Please move out of "Reviews" and to the normal Paraphernalia forum -- thanks!

I've always wished I had the guts to wear my ringtops on a long necklace chain but I can't help but imagine some crazy ink disaster down the front of my dress. headsmack.gif

If the leather cases that we make appeal to you I could see if they can be scaled down:

Oh, neat! If you would be willing to scale these down, I would love to order one or some. The dimensions of the slots would need to be about 3.85"x.5". Do let me know, as well as whether there is a choice in colour & design!

Alternatively, it can be a simpler design, where there is one envelope-like pouch, but with several elastic holders inside, like the vintage Conway Stewart Dinkie & Dandy wallets, if you are familiar with those? That sort of design works better for small pens without clips, because it eliminates the difficulty of "fishing them out" from the slots.

Let me know what you think!

We think we can scale these down so send me a PM if you want to proceed.

Well, it looks like I shall soon have a custom leather pouch for my mini-pens,
problem solved : )

Thanks again for your response jbb, can't wait!

Don't you love it when posting on FPN has an "Ask and Ye Shall Recevie" outcome?

The mini-pouch from jbb has arrived! I am still not home to see it, but my Husband snapped a picture with his phone, so here is a very low-res preview. Husband says it is very cute and excellently made.

As you can see, the proportions have been changed from the standard pouches offered, to fit vintage ringtops that are about 3.75" in length and .5" in diameter, such as the Conway Stewart Dinkie. The designs on the flap and strap are combined from 2 different pouches, as I liked that combination better. The whole process took a week, including domestic shipping -- pretty neat. Thank you so much, jbb, I can't wait to use this pouch when I am back in the US!

I have a slim, stiff leather case with a fold over top, this will hold around 4 slim/small pens and uses the clip to keep the pen in position. An unusual feature is that the pens are lifted part way out of the case when the top is raised.

I see that you are based in Utopia, on the assumption that this isnt Yorkshire, I am happy to post this to you if the case will find a good home.

: ) That is extremely kind of you.

I have lived in the green and pleasant land (or "green, unpleasant" as some of my friends said it) for 4 years, and found Yorkshire beautiful during my visit there.

Utopia is a transcendant zone that defies geographical location. If you think your pen case would be happy there, we shall be pleased and grateful to receive it!
