I have been a parker 51 fan for 45 years. I also use a MB149 which I have used for 10 years. To cut to the chase I have been looking for a "fatter " pen with a hooded nib for work. My Paker will only write on cheap phocopy paper, very dry, any more tooth or in fact gloss, the pen skips or theres zero flow.Tried Parker, who want money. cant find the warranty and I cant remember who i bought it off. Most dealers tell me it was a lemon, over 50% came back for repair and the other 50% were prob never used. Any ideas on how to increase flow. I have already spread the tines which gives me some flow.

Have you given it a good soak (overnight) in a dilute detergent solution, followed by the same time in a 10% household ammonia solution? Don't forget to flush well with clean water afterwards.
A number of people on the FPN have noticed that their P100s improved with this treatment and with usage.
I bought a number of bottles of old Parker Quink with Solv-X just for this kind of thing.
It took me a week of using my P100 filled with this ink for at least 15 minutes a day before mine 'freed up' and flowed like it should.
It seems that the 100s are tested with ink in the factory, and that ink is not cleaned out properly.

The 100s definitely improve with some strong flushes (I use a syringe designed for giving liquid medicines to children) and a long, soapy soak. The feed holds a considerable amount of ink. I have had great success with my new 100 on nice smooth Rhodia pads. Ink can also make a difference. A little Waterman Florida Blue or Havana always flows nicely for me.
Good luck. We could all use a long, soapy soak now and then.

I also had problems with my new P 100. Hard starting, poor and uneven ink flow, occasional skipping; all in all a lousy pen, until I flushed out the Waterman Blue Black and filled it with PR American Blue. The P 100 instantly became a well behaved, even writing pen with good flow. You might also get lucky by trying a different ink.
Best regards, Ken
