I am one of those people who has OCD about lending or giving money. You know the type, the one who will not give a poor person money, but would be more than happy to buy him food, just to know exactly where the money is going, regardless of any trust issue. The guy that wants to see his friend's bill before lending him money, and even then requires a signed contract for anything over $20.
I have that same problem with FPN. I trust that when I donate money, it goes to run the site. I have no doubt the people that handle that are respectable. But I still have this unsatiable curiousity about how much it takes to actually run this site, and what other expenditures are present.
Is there any way to find this out, or is it kept private for some viable reason that I am missing?
IMHO, if you are asking people to donate to the site, the expenditures should be clearly listed. It is just common business practice.
If anyone can help with this curiousity I have (especially mods), please help, as it is stopping me from donating to one of the few sites that I actually do not mind donating to.
Thanks,
Nkk

The information is not secret. The expenses have been mentioned before. I need to get around to pinning something somewhere.
The server costs $249 per month. That is pretty much our only ongoing expense. Shipping supplies etc. come out of ink sales profit. All admins and moderators are volunteers and therefore 100% of the income from the ink and donations is in a bank account and used solely for the site.
I have to look it up, but we paid a good bit for the perpetual license about a year ago? We will be spending some money on a custom skin soonish.
FPN is in good shape right now financially thanks to the ink sales and donations.

Though FPN may be in good shape at the moment, I still intend to make a small donation at least annually, if not a little more often, to ensure it stays that way. Stuff happens. And, thus far, the Admin have proven trustworthy and I've no reservations at this time regarding the use of donated funds.
