I recently was contacted by Vermiculus. He was looking for a Parker 51 Vac filler with a wet fine nib.... and was curious as to whether I was open to a trade... Silly Question rolleyes.gif
He offered an Aero fill English 51 in Teal with a medium nib....
Sounded good to me.... so we closed the deal...

He received his pen before mine arrived and I was happy to find out it was exactly what he was looking for... He got a nice Burgundy 51 Vac filler with a wet fine nib...

My pen arrived Thursday and it is sweet...
If it were not for the sac being stained you might call the pen mint, just a spot of drawer wear on the cap ... it has a butter smooth medium nib the glides on the paper to the point of not feeling it...
I would call it about 7/10 wetness, just as I like them... and the tipping looks like a baseball compared to US tipping on 51s....
Well anyway... here is a pic of my new English 51 in Teal

Lovely!
I had the opportunity to meet more English 51 aeros than American or Canadian ones... and I love them...!
Enjoy....

Wow, that tip looks more like a broad than a medium. Talk about baseball!

Btw, I noticed the hood has a nicely pronounced edging on it. This looks just like the hood on my recently acquired 51. Does yours have a date code on it? I suspect this was a characteristic of some non-USA produced pens (UK, Canada).

Gee what a nice nib... almost as much tipping as my medium nib in the picture... rolleyes.gif

biggrin.gif Just spotted this thread!

I'm very happy with my Cordovan Vac - in fact, I'm carrying it at the moment, with my burgundy 21 as a partner. Thanks Tom, and enjoy that blob of a tip!
