Can anyone recommend a piston filler for under $250? What is the minimum I wouls be expected to pay for a celluloid piston filler?

thanks

I just found a Tibaldi modello 50 that cost me just under $250 - it's celluloid and it's great!

Otherwise, look around and there's a few of the Omas's which, in my humble opinion, are a joy and a delight to write with, and can be found (not in celluloid) for under $250 if you're patient.

If you're looking for a basic piston filler that has a modern look I'd suggest the Lamy 2000. It costs about $94, so you'd be very under budget (or have plenty of extra money to spend on inks biggrin.gif ). The body of the pen is made of makralon, which is a durable type of plastic. The nib is partially hooded and is 14 karat gold that has been platinum plated. It's definitely a workhorse pen.

Ok that was one time too many!

I just ordered my first Stipula, a 22 with 0.9 nib biggrin.gif I hesitated long enough to get a Stipula and at that price I just could not miss it!

P.S. How long is it to ship from Italy to Canada?

You can sometimes find some of the following on eBay for less than $250 if you are willing to be patient:

-- Aurora Optima (new)

-- Pelikan M800 (new)

-- Montblanc 146 (only used pens at this price)

-- Omas (new old stock [NOS] resin models)
