new Sonnet Laque Black GT extra fine, and I saw these on eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-PARKER-SONNET-LAQU...1QQcmdZViewItemhttp://cgi.ebay.com/new-PARKER-Sonnet-Laqu...1QQcmdZViewItemI must confess this is the first time I've entred the eBay website. Having seen so many threads about fake Sonnets, especially that I don't know how to spot one, I don't know what to think. Has anyone bought from this seller before?
Thank you.

I've not heard of the seller before, but that doesn't mean anything!
If you don't get any other answers, take a look for 'lewertowski' as the seller, he has a shop called 'Pen Seller From France' (also a member of FPN). His pens will be 100% genuine.
Regards
Richard.

I haven't bought from volkspen.
This seller has been going quite a while and nothing I have seen from him has shouted out fake to me. He is selling a wide variety of pens of different makes/models. This is always a good sign as it suggests he buying from legitate sources. Although there are plenty of counterfeit Sonnets around, other makes/models are rarely faked, if at all.
The pens are being sold at realistic prices and he has a good deal of reasonable feedback.
Looks O.K. to me.

So far the only way I know to identify the fakes is to feel the weight of the pen.
The fake Sonnets feel much lighter.
Guess from ebay you can't feel the pen and it's weight.
So that won't help.

I'm no expert, but search the forum as it is a common thread. There is also an article showing some typical tell tale signs of fakes vs real. The boxes are often also a give away, but in this case you'll have to make do with the pen pics. The photos are of pretty good quality and show the areas you need to examine well, so that would suggest the seller has nothing to hide. It is usually features on the nib, clip and cap band that separate the fakes from the real. Search the forum and I'm sure you'll get a pointer. Could also always visit a Bricks and Mortar store and have a closeup at a real one to help you decide.

On this basis, I have just bought a Sonnet Cisele from Pen seller from France. Not the cheapest - I found a couple of shops that undercut him - but if he is on FPN and comes recommended, I feel far happier.
By the way, a number of Ciseles are described as a GT: is there a difference?

Seller in Hong Kong but has extensive sales and feedback. The only negative feed back I see is from occasional late shipment. The prices are in line with what I would expect and he indicates that the standard packaging from Parker was included versus the tip off of "No Box".

Hi,
GT for GOLD TRIMS, all the CISELE have gold trims and there is only 1 model of SONNET CISELE, J.M.L.

Thank you for that! I hope I performed the Paypal transaction correctly! I bought the Sonnet for my wife for her birthday - I have also bought her a Folio copy of Shakespeare Sonnets and wrote her a sonnet as well! She is an English teacher so it had to be correct in every way!

Play it safe with your written sonnet and don't give her the Cisele Sonnet loaded with red ink.
