So there I was .... unscrewing the medium nib on my new m1000 for the first time.....
I cleaned the barrel of the pen by flushing it with water and next cleaned the nib, getting it ready to ship in the mail the next morning to Chartpak for a nib
replacement ....
But then something unexpected happened ... a bottle of Parker Quink (a closed bottle thank god !) was sitting on my desk which I accidentally knocked over

while I was trying to put the now cleaned nib into a small container to send out to Chartpak ...
I had to do it .... having used Pelikan Black Ink with this m1000 in testing out the nib, I figured why not ... I may as well try the Parker Quink Black Ink
that just got knocked over ... I mean it was worth a try I thought ....
Lo and behold .... the m1000 medium nib now with a barrel full of Parker Quink Black Ink is writing like a Broad and writing as smooth as a baby's behind....
I kid you not .... the nib is writing like a Broad
This is really in stark contrast to when I had filled the Barrel with Pelikan Black Ink - with which the nib not only gave me a "dry" feeling, but also felt a little
scratchy ...
To be very honest ... with the Parker ink, the nib is performing very well .... and for now, I would have to say I am a satisfied customer
Was it fate that the Parker ink got knocked over ... was it an accident .... or was it just pure luck ... I have no idea folks
I had to relate my experience here - I know different inks had different flow rates ... but I have to be very honest that I did not realize it could have made
such a difference - in my own case, it has !
I want to thank everyone here who gave me such great replies and advice - and I want to thank the Pelikan Gods for having shown me the right way ....
Seriously though, it has made quite a difference for me - and I think I now realize what people here meant when they said the medium nib was quite wet
in its flow ....
Thank you guys again ... FPN rules !
