I just picked up my first Vacumatic in a Pen & pencil set. The pen is in great shape. It has a very fine nib that writes on the dry side. The vac seems good but I'm not so sure much ink is being drawn in. If anyone can tell me details about this pen it would be appreciated. I'm pretty certain it is a Major in size.

Wow looks like a beautiful set. Looks like a 1st Gen pen Senior to me. David I has a bunch of vac info on his site. Love the blue colored ones. Check Davids site and see what you can glean there if you get an oppertunity.

Congrats on the new set,

2nd Generation (1937-1941) Double Jewel Major Azure Blue (mid 1940-1941 production).

Nice set. Well better than the basic Vac. If you don't want it... wink.gif

Don't fill it until after it's been repaired! The ink could eat up the filler unit if the diaphragm is compromised. Vac's are relatively easy to repair once you have a vac wrench. Or send it off to get it professionally done. It's a beautiful set!
