Full Version: Removing converter from Sailor KOP Pro Gear

Hi,

This is going to sound like a dumb question but I just don't want to damage my Sailor King of Pens Pro Gear.

How in the heck do you remove the converter? I expected that it was screwed in; if it is, mine is too freakin' tight and I can't get a good enough grip.

Does it screw in? If not, how? If yes, any suggestions on how I can actually get the thing to turn loose (before I hose it down in WD-40)?

Thank you!

Hello Mike,

I asked the same question some time ago about the standard KoP. Here is a picture that Ruud took on my request to show where the converter inserts into the section (a cartridge is inserted instead). After seen the picture I felt confident on pulling (and at the same time twisting lightly clockwise) the converter from the metal assembly. I don't know if the KoP PG uses the same assembly as the standard KoP, but I hope so.

Regards,

Nelson

Hi Nelson,

That sure looks like it. I will do as you have instructed.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

has anybody put in a modified cartridge(with a sac attached) and what size sac will it accomodate? it is such a big pen but so little ink capacity I would like to make mine an eyedropper but am leery of corrosion issues so I am thinking of the idea above I picked up here.
