I am thinking of buying a new Parker. Does anyone know which one has the most flexible nib? Is it the Sonnet? If yes, is there a difference between the old nibs and the new ones? Or, which nib is the most flexible amongst the different choices of the old and the new?
Thank you.
No modern Parker has true flex nib. Sonnets 18k nibs, at most, are semiflex at their best. Most of them have a springy feel,
but the tines do not spread to give line variation... few has semiflex nib, and fewer goes to the point of being flex.... you should
try before buying.
I have only one of them... in the picture. It is a French cascade gold sonnet, bought new from a Parker dealer in 2004 as far as I can remember....
date code is PII, so most probably it is from 1999... it's nib has quite a bit of flex, and it's a flawless performer.
