Today is my first day with the George Bernard Shaw Writer's edition fountain pen. Not supposed to be released in London until September but I have one!!

Slightly bittersweet as its a replacement for my old pen which was stolen. My old fountain pen was "The Daddy" 75th Anniversary Limited Edition 149 complete with diamond tipped cap etc etc. Very sad.

However, the GBS is so far proving to be a great replacement. Nice weight. Feels good in my hand, especially after handling the 149 for 10 years. Love the colour! Catches the light beautifully and the nib is gorgeous!

Not much else to say at the moment except the pen is a dream. The cap is good too, bulges out then tapers back into the snow cap. I also like that, apart from the snow cap, it doesn't look like any other MB I've seen.

Can I be rude and ask you how much it set you back?

Don't forget that, to be 'authentic', you should use green ink, as I was told, when I was studying graphology, that GBS habitually used green smile.gif

This, at the time, marked him down as an eccentric....not far off the mark, I'd say!

£550 but happy with that as part of my insurance payout from my 149 Anniversary so still plenty left over!

I would love to see pictures of the pen... Many, many times... But really, I would love to see pictures of the nib...
