I bought a Pelikan Limited Edition from Pens In Asia at a very good price and needed a nib swap. Chartpak really shouldn't have done it because the pen was not purchased in the US. They were incredibly gracious and accomodating. More so than Omas by far when I've had problems. Buy your Pelikans from a US distributor. Chartpak rocks. Abi is wonderful. One rarely encounters such fine service in the US anymore.

You are correct. The entire fountain pen community will mourn if Chartpak ever stops being the service center for Pelikan.

Count me in on that one. Chartpak rocks and Abi rocks!

Service is an important element for me in making a choice of which pen to buy. I agree that Chartpak is superior, and as a result as I have radically thinned my herd I have purchased a few more Pelikans and now pretty much use them to the exclusion of other pens. Pelikans may not be for everyone, and that is fine, but for me, the quality of the pen and the quality of the service make Pelikan an excellent choice.
Glad, and not surprised, you had a good experience. J

I have to agree. I have several Pelikans now and one of the reasons is Chartpak service.
I had to exchange a couple nibs and always found that Abi and Nancy in customer service were great
to work with.
It is nice to see someone stand behind their products.

Add my praises to those heaped upon Chartpak. They repaired a broken M805 in a matter of days. Sent a pen to Cross to be repaired and didn't see it again for nearly two months!

Yes, Chartpak is the best. I lost part of a pen and they replaced it - no charge. As a result, I continue to buy Pelikans with abandon

I dropped my M800 twice since I got it 95. Both times the pen broke in half at the junction of the section and barrel. Chartpak put it back together both times with no charge. Can't say enough good about their service.

Man, Chartpak gets so much love that I almost want one of my Pels to break so that I can experience its service. Wait...scratch that. I'll just live in comfort knowing that IF anything happens....

I totally agree. Chartpak is wonderful. My baby 320 literally fell apart and Chartpak had it back to me exactly one week after I sent it to them for repair. I am still wondering how it could have broken but Abby told me that some of them just do that because the glue dries out. (Is the name Abby or Abi?).

It's Abi. Chartpak is a business model in the distributor industry. I appreciate their quick service whenever I request new stock.

Abi is a pleasure to talk to at Chartpak ...
With many other FP brands, I think twice about just buying another nib before making that phone call
But I can only add to the countless praises on this forum when it comes to the service Chartpak renders ...
Ok, I am going back to writing with my bird now ...

Abi is world class, Pelikan is the model of service. I love my Pelikan pens. Member of the life long Pelikan customer club.
Jellbelly1 how is your new M1000 working out? I love mine. So smooth and fluid I make excuses to sign stuff just to use it.....I am a sad individual .

Seems like praise for Chartpak comes up a lot on this board.
Might be a nice idea to drop a line to the head honchos at Chartpak and let them know that the people who work in their service/warranty area are highly thought of.
I suppose I should have done so with a note written by a fountain pen, but I finked out and used email. J
