I saw this on Ebay and seeing the black MB logo on a white background + the gap in IN STRUMENTS in the Service Guide, I thought I would tell him that they were fake!

Montblanc box

His reponse was bit of a surprise. See bottom of page.

Anyone know of dodgy Montblanc dealers at 45 Queen Street in Auckland?

The seller answer in an aggressive mode trying to appear on the side of the truth, but i'm pretty sure he knew that is a fake.
Well, there could be the chance he is really convinced about the answer he gave on ebay, but then...he is still wrong saying Montblanc is wrong...
Maybe, simply, who "gave" the pen to him was...ehm...good in selling stuff tongue.gif

If you said: "The box is counterfeit. Hope you didn't pay too much for the pen..." you are right.
The answer of the seller is more than ridiculous because 45 Queen Street in Auckland is the address of the Montblanc Boutique. With this "trick" he tries to convince disbelievers that the box is not a fake, but we know better. It would be nice to see how they faked the dealers stamp on the last page of the warrenty certificate, if there is one ...

I think this "WRITING IN STRUMENTS" on the Service Guide says it all.

What I'm wondering about: Who voted "no" and "not sure" in this poll?!? Don't they comprehend the facts or did they hit the wrong button by accident?

Perhaps one of the 'no's was the seller!

However, with hindsight, perhaps I could have made the question a bit clearer with the options as folllows:
Genuine
Fake
Not Sure.

The question is confusing because the topic title asks "Is this genuine?"

Edit: And I did vote Yes, because I read the thread before answering.

Yes, you're right. It is confusing.

The poll was an afterthought. Should have spent more time on it.

Update

Just re-checked this listing on Ebay. Events have moved on in rather an interesting manner...

Someone else [perhaps from this forum?] also told the seller that the items were fake...and received a rude response.

Curiously, despite this, someone asked for a But it Now price!

However, the items have now been withdrawn from sale. Perhaps it was reported to Ebay that they were fake, so the seller's hand was forced.

Odd that he added the questions and replies at the bottom of the listing for all to view. Quite entertaining to read but not, I would have thought, in his best interest as a seller.

Oh my... We're talking about one single fake here on eBay. Take a look at our local auctioning site (one of the largest in Eastern Europe):

Montblancs on Allegro.pl

Looks like ONE THIRD of all the pens listed here are fakes. I contacted Allegro staff, but no action has been taken on any of these (except one that was listed as "MB replica"). So I contacted MB, maybe they will threaten them a bit wink.gif
