Hello to all as I am new to the forum. In the past year I have become a fan of Montblancs. My favorites are the LeGrand rollerballs. As many of you know they do not produce many options in the Legrand/rollerball. However, on occassion I see different ones on ebay. For instance one of the 925 sterling silver legrand/rb's is on there now. Are these legit? Do any of you know what models are currently produced in the LG/RB?

On another note, I have found Joon Pens and executive essentials websites. Are these good places to buy pens from? (I have researched and read other posts regarding places to buy but didn't see much info on these two places) I have emailed the pen hospital for prices and information but never got a response.

Regards,
Ryan

Welcome to FPN, Ryan. There are plenty of sites that sell a LeGrand rollerball. I haven't bought from Joon or Executive Essentials, but I know from reading here on FPN that at least Joon is a reputable seller. Executive Essentials probably is too. I'm surprised FPH hasn't responded to your price request.

As far as being able to spot a fake MB on ebay, look around in this forum (use the search feature above right) for good info. Someone will probably come along and answer your post better in this regard than I can. I couldn't tell a fake unless it was at least somewhat obvious.

Do you have a MB LeGrand rollerball yet? If not, one thing to consider is the refill. They only take MB LeGrand refills (and not any other size MB refill), and I don't know anyone besides MB who makes a refill to fit the LeGrand. If you do, let us know! The Classique size rollerball takes a refill that is made for this pen but not by MB (like Office Depot, for example). Also, ebay MB refill sellers seem to have plenty of the Classique-size RB refills at a big discount, but not the LeGrand size. Good luck with your search, and I hope someone can answer your ebay question! thumbup.gif

Hi Ryan,

Currently Montblanc only produces the LeGrand rollerball in black resin with platinum or golden trims.

But in the past there were seven more LeGrand rollerballs especially in the Meisterstück Solitaire range:

Meisterstück LeGrand burgundy
Meisterstück Solitaire LeGrand Doué Sterling (black resin barrel and Sterling Silver pinstripe cap)
Meisterstück Solitaire LeGrand Doué Vermeil (burgundy resin barrel and Vermeil pinstripe cap)
Meisterstück Solitaire LeGrand Sterling (cap and barrel in Sterling Silver pinstripe)
Meisterstück Solitaire LeGrand Vermeil (cap and barrel in Vermeil pinstripe)
Meisterstück Solitaire LeGrand Ramses II (barrel Vermeil, cap blue Lapislazuli)
Meisterstück Solitaire LeGrand Nicolai I (barrel Vermeil, cap green Malachite)

So the one you saw on eBay can be legit.

Best regards,
Axel

Hello!

I have used Executive Essentials both in person at a B&M store and online. In the store, I received wonderful customer service and ended up purchasing a very nice Meisterstuck. Online, I had no problems. I placed the order on Monday morning at it was shipped Monday afternoon. I have no connection to the business other than being a satisfied customer (insert rest of full disclosure disclaimer here).

I hope that helps!

Axel,
Do you have photos of all of these pens? If so, please share them with us. Some of us only know the black-with-gold-trim and black-with-silver-trim versions.

Sorry, Charlie, but as I collect(ed) only fountain pens I don't have rollerballs (or ballpoints or pencils) in my drawers. So I can't make any pictures.
