Hi all,

I'm thinking of buying a Stipula 22 and would like your thoughts on it. At the moment my favourite pen is a Montegrappa Miya Argento - I love the ink flow and flexible nib. Has anyone who has (or has tried) the Stipula any thoughts they could share?

Thanks in advance,
Shyam

I'm keen on the 14k gold nib version...but I think they are increasingly harder to find due to Stipula discontinuing this model. I've heard good things about them, but the question I would like to know is, is it really worth spending the extra £££ on the 22 Venitue compared with the Vedo? I know the looks of the 22 are amazing, with the silver nib section and piston knob.

cheers,

If you are thinking of the revised version with the gold nib, they are nice pens. If you are looking at the titanium nib version (the older version), they were plagued with problems. I went through 6 trips to Italy before they got mine right.

It is great now, but buying an older production version might mean you will need patience.

I have a Florentia with a titanium nib as fitted to the 22 and it is a lovely pen.

I use a Stipula 22 (titanium 1.1 nib) every day at present. It's one of my favurite pens. I bought it at the LA Pen Show arlier this year for about $120.

The downside is that, to get the flow as fast as I wanted it, I had John Motishaw work on enlarging the feed.
Then I had a problem with the piston which JM also fixed but he said it might not be a permanent solution.

Meanwhile I use it every chance I get. It's short size means it fits into a short pocket almost as neatly as a MB Boheme.

Solitaire.
