In an attempt to be more social "in the real world" I went to Meetup.com to see if I could find a local Fountain Pen meet up. There doesn't appear to be any! There's scrapbooking, there's writing, but no pen groups (that I could find.)
Now, I'm not exactly a social butterfly - I tend to be insular and too-content with my own company - but I did spend 9 years of my life organizing events for a living. So I'd be willing to start a meet up if there's any interest.
The only reason I think there might be interest is that people have mentioned "meeting up" to shop at Kinokuniya, and there's another thread about how to meet people (if you're new in town and you don't drink), not to mention the positive connections I've made so far through the various correspondence threads.
So, I throw it out there. Any interest?
Any meetup I organize would be in New York City, but others should feel free to run with it in their areas, if so inclined.
