Well, my father-in-law was good to his word...he had another 51 and 2 Parker mechanical pencils!

First, the 51...not as nice as the others, without any "51" notation on the barrel, in dark blue:

and the two pencils: neither have any noticeable markings on the outside. I think the red one is from the same set as the red fp in Garage Find, below:



Then, my mother-in-law wanted to know what all the fuss was about...and came out with this (I'll post it separately on the Shaeffer board:

It's short, a lady's pen -- she used it in graduate school in the late '40s, according to her memory.
The filler cap does seem to have worked itself off...

The not-red pencil is a partner to that 51-- I've got a grey set of the same trim level. I really wish I had a garage-- they seem to fill with keen pens!

well, it is fun...I haven't intended to have a collection, but seem to now have about a dozen, all told. My in-laws are pretty amused, and I'm glad they were able to enjoy the whole thing as much as I have.
