If there's a kind soul who owns a bottle/sample of Private Reserve's Sherwood Green ink, is it possible to do a mini waterproof test on this? Just a written impression would be great. I adore this forest green color and wanted to know if it would hold up against even a moderate splash.

I've made a waterproof forest green from Noodler's Verdun and Black but it still doesn't have the vibrancy of the Sherwood. Thanks so very much smile.gif

Kelly, you just wan't a quick writing sample and have it splashed on as soon as it's dry?
Sonnet
It is a very saturated color but in my experiences, even a little splash will cause it to run and smear horribly.
Apollo
Sonnet is spot on.

Yes, Apollo, that would be great! I'm just trying to find out (hoping!!) if ANY trace of what was written remains at all even with a splash. I think a good dip or soak would certainly wash it out completely as I've never seen Sherwood on any waterproof lists. I just wish I could find that exact color but waterproofed. Hopefully Noodler's is working on something... biggrin.gif

Apollo, you certainly have been a god to me today smile.gif First the Taccia black cherry pics and now this sample. And, yes, you've confirmed my fears...UGH! Thank you so much for the sample and scan - that's tops smile.gif

Oh boy, were you right or what? Look at that scan! A mess is right! Thanks for your input, Sonnet smile.gif

Hello,

I find Sherwood too bright and "washable" for daily use, so I mix it with Noodler's Black to give it partial permanency and deaden/darken the color. It's something I've been doing to many other inks as well lately.

Hi Edward,
I'll probably end up doing that as well, at least as a sample anyway. I'm a little hesititant as I like the brightness of the Sherwood. I'm thinking of getting some Noodler's Green Marine (which is pretty good on the waterproof table) and comparing the two after I've mixed a bit of Noodler's black with the Sherwood. I've done that, too, with a purple and it turned out really well.
