Just bought a Phileas and am very pleased. I 'stumbled' upon it at Staples. Price was good and comments on this site have been positive
The instruction sheet either leave a great deal unsaid, or I'm missing something.
My question is this: Why is there a removable piece at the top? What is it for?
Does this have anything to do with my old Captain Midnight decoder ring?

Any removable bits on the Phileas are there purely to trouble your imagination. Ignore them and enjoy the pen.

I for my part am still trying to decide if I can use the fact of a removable blind cap to convert the thing into a button-filler. The medications just aren't helping.
