Just dropping in to say hi to everyone here at the The FPN.
I'm not going to lie to you, I'm really a bit of a fountain pen newbie. Despite always being a fan of fountain pens (it's their old world charm methinks) I've only ever owned one fountain pen a few years back, it was just a cheap parker picked up in WH Smiths. This is due to not having the money to buy a decent one and the fact that I really didn't have much of a use for it (I'm 20).
Anyway I decided recently that I wanted a new pen and stumbled across these forums whilst searching for information about various models. I read a few of the posts and between the wealth of information available and how nice everyone seems I decided this would be the perfect place to find the answers to any question I might have in the future.
Well thats how I ended up here and I'm looking forward to learning more about the fountain pens that have always appealed to me so much.
Regards
Kris

Hi Rowett!
You'll learn lots about FPs here. And yeah, the 'old world charm' has a lot to do with it. For me, at least

Well hi there Kris. I was in your home country last week and I saw of course a W H Smiths in the Stansted airport too but they didn't have any decent pens. Nottingham, Cambridge or Ipswitch may have been better but I didn't have the time to try them out. Oh well, who cares? Look at a Pelikan 215 etc for a neat starter FP (no no I don' work for 'em)
Best wishes
