I love these, but I would love this one more if it had the full star, not just the outline...

I agree Bryant. I was just looking at this pen a few hours before the auction ended and contemplated putting in a bid. However, I finally decided that for the price I would prefer to wait for a 136.

Erick,

What evidence do you have that this pen is a fake. Erfobay is a well-know and, as I understand from postings on this board, very reputable seller of vintage pens.

Oops, my mistake and apologies - I thought that the lack of the white star means it is not correct????

I might have screwed up here blush.gif - please enlighten me

Erick,

I think you may have. The following is a brief description of the MB 32x series from www.penboard.de:

"The 32x series was made as the third series, at a lower price level, compared to the high end masterpieces equipped with some simpler features: the star is just an engraved line, the nib is made of thinner gold and smaller iridium tips and the filling mechanism is the simple push button filler as opposed the the intricate push knob fillers of the Masterpiece pens.

However, this very third class series was the first line to be introduced in colored celluloid, already in 1928.

The nibs of the early 3 series pens did not bear the Montblanc imprint, just the letters A to C = nibssize 2 to 6 in a triangle."

I think I would want a 136-139 as well, but I just love the vintage striated and Marbles MBs... I dont know why I have never stepped up and gotten one, I guess Im just not familiar with what I should be paying for them. I pretty good and the modern pricing, but I am pretty new to vintage MBs...

Erick,

No need to apologize. Your original post made me do some more digging on the characteristics of this model myself. As Bryant says, one of the purposes of this forum is to learn and broaden our collective knowledge of FPs.

The question here is not to be more careful.
The question here is to know about what you are posting, if you have knowledge you can share, if you don't, please don't share your lack of knowledge like you did.
