Hello everyone!
Just wanted to double check that this is actually a Pilot Elite, and that the MYU never came in colors (or with a non-integrated nib). Thoughts?

I am glad to stand corrected, but as far as I know, the MYU is that precisely because it had an integrated nib. It looks like an ordinary "pocket pen" to me.

I think that's the Volex, not the Myu.

I think this is a Volex? Very similar to the MYU. The intergrated-nib MYU is called the 701, and then there is the Murex etc... The Volex is not something to get excited over - as Erick said, it's just a pocket pen like many others in this configuration.

These are often called the "Brother of MYU". A Volex. When capped, it looks like a MYU (because of the shape and clip), but obviously the non-integrated nib is a dead give-away. The steel and black versions are on FleaBay a lot. The red ones are less common. As Laura said, nothing to get excited about. I prefer a little more substance of the full brushed aluminum. These colored Volex pens are very light.

Here's a shot containing two of the harder to find colors, teal green and white. Should be stateside in about aweek.

I could be wrong but I am sure these pens were called MYU in some of Pilot's official literature and there was also a demonstrator model. Personally I too consider them more like a Volex but the true Volex has a different style of clip than the MYU.

A friend in japan told me last year that these pens are actually MYUs. I was able to confirm this during a visit to Pilot Pen Station earlier this year. In the catalogs they are referred to as "MYU Plastic" for the all black version and "MYU Color Variation" for the other colors (reddish pink, white, teal green, and blue). The colored versions came with a light gold colored steel cap. The transparent demonstrator is uncatalogged and quite a bit harder to find. I have one and recently purchased another for a friend. Mine has a black cap but the more recent one came with the light gold cap.
They are nice pens and the colored versions, although more rare than the black, generally seem to fetch about half the price.
