A while back, I came across a post that said it's possible to convert many Sheaffer rollerballs to fountain pens simply by replacing the section. Of cournse, now I can't find the topic!
So - Does anybody know if this trick will work with a Fashion or Agio rollerball?
Thank you!

All of the No Nonsense pens can be converted by just removing the rollerball section and screwing in the appropriate nib.

The answer is yes! I have just tried it with new stock Agios. Sheaffer have always been a bit less protective in the design of their products.

Close.
Sheaffer puts a spring in the end of the barrel of the RB pens to hold the refill in position. To be able to fit a converter into the pen, you need to pull this spring out. A paper clip bent to a hook on one end should do the trick.

Hi,
I've had success with the bent paper clip (and various other hook-ended implements), but for me the most reliable method is the chopstick trick. Check out Taki's photos in this
thread for specifics.

I have done this with Targas but it seems as if the rollerball cap interior is slightly different from the fountain pen. My nibs seem to dry up. Does anyone else have this problem?

I can attest to that fact. When Balance II's were current production, I just could not locate a FP in crimson. I easily found a roller and bought it. I ordered a FP section from Sheaffer (back during Sidney's tenure), and installed it in the roller. I have been happily writing with it for years.

I have a Fashion FP and RB and the sections and caps are interchangeable. This model didn't appear to have a spring in the RB
